After 25 years at my corporate job, I felt it was time for a change. I had had a successful career, but it was now time to get back to doing something I love… something that would fill me with pride and happiness.
In 1999, I attended the Equine Sports Massage Therapy school, “Equissage” in Round Hill, Virginia. I received my certification, came home and opened my practice. For two years I travelled around southern Ontario working on horses and loving every minute! It was so rewarding to see how the horses responded to the massage and the healing touch. I would leave the barn feeling happy and satisfied that I had made a difference in that horse’s life.
One day my husband, Kevin came home after a busy day of Equine Dentistry and asked if I would consider working with and helping him. It was a tough decision, but I chose to close my massage business and start my new job as “Chief Horse Holder”, “Bookkeeper”, “Equine Dental Assistant”, “Timekeeper”, the list goes on.
It was always our hope to provide various equine therapies that would compliment each other to bring comfort, healing and pain-free lives to these glorious creatures we call horses. We worked together for 15 years and over those years I attended many of the Equine Dentistry Conventions and assisted him in preparing and presenting his many presentations.
Unfortunately, in 2016, I lost Kevin after a short but courageous battle with cancer. I had lost my husband and business partner and was unsure as to what life held in store for me. After some time and soul searching, I knew I still needed to be working with horses. I still wanted the opportunity to “give back” to all those blessed and wonderful creatures that have made my life so fulfilling. So, Symmetry Farm Equine Naturotherapies was born!
Services that I offer are Pulse Electro Magnetic Field Therapy (PEMF), Equine Sports Massage Therapy (ESMT) and Reiki. I not only work with horses but also your canine and feline friends. Farm animals (cattle, pigs, etc.) are also never turned away from receiving a PEMF session.
I work as part of your total health care team, providing these alternative therapies to better the horses health and welfare
